Barrel saunas are great for tight yards, but if you want a true backyard sauna house where four to eight people can stretch out comfortably, a cabin or modern cube is the way to go. Because the walls and floors are flat, we can build wide two-tier or L-shaped benches so you can sit up high where the heat is intense or drop down a level to cool off.

A cabin or cube gives you flat floors and full-height straight walls, which means we can build wide two-tier or L-shaped benches high up near the ceiling where the best heat sits. They also give you room for an attached changing vestibule and match modern or craftsman home siding cleanly.
In most parts of Billings, single-story accessory structures under 120–200 square feet don't need a full building permit as long as they respect property line setbacks (though 240V electrical work still gets permitted). For larger multi-room cabins or HOA neighborhoods on the West End, we help you check setbacks and paperwork before we dig.
Whereas a barrel relies on thick solid staves, our custom cabins use framed double walls packed with R-13 to R-21 high-density mineral wool insulation and a taped aluminum foil vapor barrier behind the interior cedar paneling. That keeps the heat locked inside even when a January blizzard is howling outside.
